Guidelines for Local Organizers
1) All local Organizers are elected for six month terms. For the first term, there will be a review by the NEC after three months, where the Local Organizer will meet with the LEC to discuss challenges and gains of their first three months. This new national policy will apply to existing Local Organizer for the first three months of 2024.
2) It is expected that the Local Organizers will actively reach out to existing members and schedule a general meeting at least every two months (in person or video/phone meeting) to discuss organizing a Party local and coordinating activities.
3) The main directive of a Local Organizer is to build a Party Local with a functioning LEC. The Local Organizer position does not replace a Local and does not carry the same authority, but the Local Organizer may communicate with coalitions, media, online or with local organizations that they are the Party's Local Organizer in that jurisdiction and represent the Party as such.
4) It is expected that there will be membership growth (or at least not decline), activity and steps toward building a Local in the Local Organizers term.
5) Local membership lists shall not be shared with non-Party members or other organizations.
6) At no time should there be a website or social media page implying there is a Local organized in the jurisdiction before a local is formed. Before such time terms such as "organizing group" may be used.
7) Local Organizers will be expected to submit monthly reports by the 5th of each month.
